Mary Ellen Curtis-McConatha, 73, of Terre Haute passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at Signature Healthcare.  She was born December 20, 1946 in Columbus, Indiana to George Redmon and Thelma King Redmon.  Mary Ellen dedicated her life to the Lord and to serving others.  She was a social worker for over 25 years working in child welfare and assisted in foster parent training. She was very active in church, was a talented piano player and enjoyed painting.  Mary Ellen wrote poetry and was a published author.  Most of all she loved to spend time with her family.

She is survived by her son Chris Wittenmyer (Robin), daughters Angela Deckard (Chris) and Jennifer Hamelin (Mike), grandchildren Devon, Caleb, Connor (Morgan), Austin (Katie), Logan, Lacey (Mike), Christiana, and Abigail; one great-grandchild, and one on the way.  Also surviving are her two sisters Joyce Crowder (Scott) and Anita Kay Burton (Danny) both of Columbus, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
