Marvel Jean Sibande was born on June 13, 1959, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Joe and Eleanor Tyler. She departed this life on December 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Lenny Tyler, Jerri Allen, Stanford Tyler, Roslyn Tyler, and Stuart Tyler. Marvel guided her two children, whom she loved and adored, with wisdom, discipline, compassion, and a spirit that could not be shaken. Although at times she could be stern and never easily fooled. She poured herself into her family and touched countless lives with her generosity and strength. Marvel dedicated 42 years of loyal service to the United States government, working with the Terre Haute Social Security Office, where she was admired for her dedication, professionalism, and warm spirit. Outside of her career, she found joy in playing bingo and traveling the world with her son; she loved spending time with loved ones and opening her home to family and friends. Her door was always open, her food always warm, and her heart always willing. She leaves to cherish her memory: Her son Emmitt Tyler (Angie); Her daughter Brittiany Neace (Jamie); Her beloved grandchildren Marcus Tyler, Josiah Sibande, Ah'Myah Wheeler, Jamie Owens, La'Ryah Strong, and James Neace; Four great-grandchildren; Her siblings Steven Tyler (Brenda), Ross Tyler (Angela), Toni Tyler; And a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved her dearly. Marvel's legacy of love, strength, and kindness will continue to live on in all who knew her.

Visitation for Marvel will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at DeBaun Springhill Chapel.  Service will begin at 1:00 pm officiated by Pastor William Tyler.  Online condolences may be made at www.debaunfuneralhomes.com
