Martha Virginia Thompson Wampler, 95, of Terre Haute passed away Sunday August 6, 2023 in her residence. Martha had worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for many years at the Elks Lodge, Dr. McBride, ISU Library, PSI, and PSI Credit Union, finally retiring in 2002. She was born November 19, 1927 in Terre Haute to Marion Garfield and Etta Charlotte (McKinney) Thompson. Martha is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Thomas "Tom" Wampler; daughters, Lissa Milligan (John) and Laurie Waddell (Michael); sister-in-law, Linda Wampler; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a very special "Angel" Regina at Majestic Care. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jared Waddell and brother, M. Myers Thompson. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed collecting sheep. Martha "Granny" will be sadly missed by both family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday August 12, 2023 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services starting at 1:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Roselawn Memorial Park.
