Martha J. (Childress) Porter passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family Wednesday October 14, 2026. She was born May 18, 1937 in Terre Haute to John E. and Mary May (Smith) Childress. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mildred M. Copra and a brother, Keith A. Childress. She leaves behind three children and a stepson, Michael D. Miller, Dawn M. Anglin (Ron), Kevin S. Porter (Tammy) and Douglas S. Porter (Robin); grandchildren, Kenneth Anglin, Justina Anglin, Austin L. Miller, Landon S. Porter, Lacie Jo Porter, KayCee Stuthers, Matthew Porter, and Shawn Porter; sisters, Rosie Reese, Carol Cook, Nancy Banta, Sharon Smith and Beryle George; brother, Larry Childress and several nieces and nephews. Martha loved going thrifting, being outdoors doing yard work and going camping and most of all she loved spending time with her family. Visitation will be Monday October 19, 2026 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services starting at 1:00 pm in the funeral home.
