Obituary

Martha Zoe LaDue, 91, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family.  Born Martha Zoe McLaughlin, she dedicated her life to her Lord, her family and her music.  At World Gospel Church, she frequently played piano and organ as well as sang alto in the church choir.  She loved the focus of reaching the world with the gospel and supported World Gospel's missionary convention, hosted multiple missionary families in her home throughout the years, and cooked uncounted casseroles to share during the Fellowship dinners.  She and her family also frequently camped with groups where the families would enjoy time together in the great outdoors.  In her role as a music educator, she interacted with generations of students at grade school, junior high and high school levels, inspiring countless young minds through her talent and dedication.  In her spare time, Martha was an avid gardener, growing and canning fruits and vegetables with the help of her family.

Martha married her beloved husband, Elmer LaDue at Blackhawk Community Church and they were blessed with 67 years of marriage until his passing in 2023. They had met through Intervarsity Christian Fellowship where Martha played piano for a group of singers (one being Elmer).  They continued the musical tradition where Martha accompanied Elmer's singing throughout their life.  Together they had built a life centered on love, faith and family.  Martha was a devoted mother to her four children;  Larenda (Russ), Daniel (Barbara), David (Maria) and LeeAnn (Barry).  And in the fullness of time, the LaDue's were further blessed with eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

It was Martha's wish for a simple, quiet celebration of her life and we felt this fully reflected who she was, quietly steadfast in her support of her family and friends. It will be held Saturday October 11, 2025 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm. Burial will then follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. It was also her wish not to be "fussed over", so in lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite mission's group in her honor.
