Martha D. Benton, 87 of Terre Haute, passed away at 6:48 on Friday, April 11, 2014 in Springhill Village. She was born in Paris, IL on February 28, 1927 to Tony Meeks and Elsie Shields Meeks. Martha is survived by two sons; Bill Benton ( & wife Linda) and Jim Benton (& wife Martha), and by three daughters; Frances Weaver, Sylvia Hill, and Becky Kimble (& husband Kenny). Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers; Willard Meeks, Everett Meeks, and Louis Meeks. She was a member of Apostolic Faith Tabernacle Church. Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Clifford Farley officiating. Burial will follow in New Harmony Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM in DeBaun Springhill Chapel.
