Mark Joseph Rice, 59 of Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis with his wife and son at his side.  He was born in Terre Haute on March 2, 1958 to James Francis Rice and Ruth Helena Leusing Rice.  Mark recently retired from IBEW Local # 725, through which he worked as an electrician for over 30 years.  He is survived by his wife Cynthia Weber Rice and their son Justin Paul Rice.  Also surviving are his siblings James Michael Rice (wife Luanne), Jerome Francis Rice (wife Billinda), Ruth Ann Atkins (husband Thomas), Rita Ann Schell (husband Jimmie), and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Mark Rice, a brother, Gregory Rice, and his parents.  Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at DeBaun Springhill Chapel.  In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Arthritis Foundation or to the charity of choice.
