Mark A. Melvin, 23, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday May 9, 2026 in Union Hospital. He was born June 17, 2002 in Terre Haute to Mark A. Melvin and Loretta Rukes. Mark is survived by his mother, Loretta Rukes; sisters, Britney Moody (Austin) and Amber Melvin; niece, Haisley Moody, nephews, Bristin Moody, Jaxon Melvin, Kenric Melvin, and Cassius Melvin; aunt, Lorinda Goodman; uncle, Donald Rukes and cousins, David Goodman and Tiffani Gibson and several cousins who he loved. He was preceded in death by his father, his maternal grandparents, Donald and Patricia Rukes, his uncle, David Goodman, Sr.. Mark attended Mt. Pleasant Church where he was involved with Grace Unlimited. He was a 2023 graduate of Terre Haute North Vigo High School. He enjoyed dancing, track, bowling, and basketball. Mark was a huge Chicago Cubs fan and loved all Superheroes. He also enjoyed working with Meals on Wheels. Mark was always making people laugh and made the world a little brighter just by being in it. Visitation will be Monday May 18, 2026 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services starting at 1:00 pm in the church. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
