Marjorie L. Halberstadt, 81, of Fairbanks passed away March 26, 2013. She was born in Chicago, Il on November 22, 1931 to Walter and Olive (Kirk) Tarleton. She retired as a control clerk from CBS. For over 20 years she was the Fairbanks Township Trustee. Marge was a strong supporter of the Faribanks Volunteer Department, very active in the Sullivan County Democrat Women's Club, and had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star both at Fairbanks and Prairie Creek. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Halberstadt in 2005, a son Kent Halberstadt in 2008, and an infant daughter Paula Jane Halberstadt. She also was preceded in death by a sister Marian 'Bea' Raines and a brother Reed Tarleton. Her survivors are three daughters, Judy Harris and friend Gary Stahl, Jean Harris and husband Mark, and Ruth Pruett and husband Jack; a daughter-in-law Cathy Halberstadt, and five grandchildren Chad Pruett, Scott Harris, Ryan Harris, Kylie Stone, and Baley Halberstadt. There are six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be in DeBaun Springhill Chapel at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013 with Rev. Don Ransford officiating. Burial will be in Pogue Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
