Margaret "Peggy" McCormick, 88 of Terre Haute, passed away at 8:30 PM on Thursday, July 18, 2013 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born in Vigo County on May 4, 1925 to Gus McCreary and Pauline Middleton McCreary. Margaret was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church, and was an active member and volunteer in the church. She is survived by three sons, Jerry McCormick, Jim McCormick, and Bob McCormick and wife Jan, as well as three daughters, Janet Furnas and husband Don, Sandy Scamihorn and husband Jay, and Dianne McCormick. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Kelli Rice, Chelsea McCormick and Michael Furnas, as well as three great grandchildren. Other survivors include a brother, Danny McCreary and wife Betty, a sister, Nancy Burger, a sister- in-law-Helen Mancuso, and her beloved dog, Molly. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Joseph P. McCormick in February of 2005. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Margaret Mary Church on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 10:00 AM, with Father Rick Ginther officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, July 21, 2013 from 4:30-6:00 PM in the church, with a rosary service at 6:00 PM. The family of Margaret requests memorial contributions to be made to the Terre Haute Carmelites, in her memory. Arrangements are under the direction of DeBaun Springhill Chapel.
