Ellis
Lucille E. Ellis, 89 of Clinton, IN and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away at 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Clinton Gardens. She was born in Hammond, IN on January 15, 1926 to Eugene Stockwell and Myrtle Middleton Stockwell. She was a graduate of Gerstmeyer Technical High School. She was co-owner of the Friendly Tavern. She was retired from CBS and Terre Haute Advertising. After retirement, she became a product demonstrator at several local supermarkets. Lucille is survived by three sons; Benny & Connie Ellis, Paul Allen & Fifi Ellis, and Mike & Paula Ellis. Also surviving are three daughters; Penny & Terry Dowell, Melissa & Bill Hooker and Tammy & Dan Davenport. Also surviving are a step-son Gary Ellis and a step-daughter Sandy McDaniel. Lucille is survived by ten grandchildren; Kari Ellis, Travis Dowell, Matthew Dowell, Nicole Vickers, Tricia Robinson, Tim Ellis, Keith Ellis, William Hooker, Daniel Davenport, Jr., and Haylie Davenport, as well as 17 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul A. Ellis, Sr. in 1987, son Jimmy Stockwell, and a brother Dean Stockwell, two sisters Frances Judson Brugge and Dorothy Smith. Longtime companion, Emery McKimmy, and longtime friend Richard Shaw. She was a member of Faithway Bible Church in Worthington, IN., a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge, and served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, reading, collecting dolls and going to flea markets. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at DeBaun Springhill Chapel. Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Terry Dowell officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Alzheimer's Association or The Zorah Shrine travel fund, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
