Obituary

Louise Brimhall Hansen (87) died in her home on Sunday, November 16th, 2014, after over six months in hospice care. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Uwe J. Hansen, professor emeritus of physics at Indiana State University, their daughter Ruth Louise Hollander and husband Steven Hollander of Salt Lake City, Utah, and son Rulon Mark Hansen, and wife Jodi Lynn Hansen and two grandsons Brendon Timothy Hansen (17) and Jacob Ray Hansen (15) of Eagle Mountain Utah. She is an award winning artist and musician. With her passing, Indiana only has 4 living members of the American Watercolor Society. She has exhibited widely throughout the US and in Germany and received many awards. She played bass in the Utah Symphony, the Arlington Symphony and for 25 years in the Terre Haute Symphony. She served as president of the Terre Haute Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has taught art in the Vigo County public school system, as well as at Indiana State University. A memorial service will be held in the meetinghouse of the Wabash Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1849 N 6 ½ Str. on Wednesday, November 26, at 11:00 AM, with a visitation at 10:00 AM. DeBaun Funeral Home, Springhill Chapel assisted with arrangements.
