Louis Rudolph Yansky III was born July 14, 1943, to Louis R Yansky Jr and Goldie Ruth (Remler) Yansky in Terre Haute, Indiana. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1961, attended Rose - Hulman Institute of Technology for two years and graduated from Indiana State University in 1972. Louis married Carolyn Lynn (Kruzan) Yansky February 9, 1962, in Riley, Indiana and loved her dearly through challenging times and the best of times until her recent death in December 2025. Louis died May 2, 2026, after a decade long battle with Frontotemporal and vascular dementia.
He is survived by his sons, Chris (Dawn) Yansky of Neenah, WI. Craig (Sandra) Yansky of Gunter, TX. Grandchildren Nicholas (Haley) Yansky of Anna, TX. Nathan (Shelby) Yansky of Celina, TX. Amanda (Sam) Singpradith, and Alyssa (Chase) Picotte of Coral Springs, FL. Ashley Goode of Neenah, WI. Hayli Dennis of North Freedom, WI and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by his grandson Christopher L. Yansky, Jr. and sister Barbara (Yansky) Guire.
Lou had a varying and interesting career that spanned more than 50 years. He started his professional career in Terre Haute at Columbia Records and worked for Terre Haute First National Bank before transferring in 1978 to Ft Wayne, IN to work for Lincoln Life Insurance Company and International Harvester. Lou transferred his family to Dallas, TX in 1982 to work for Rockwell International / Collins Radio and retired from ARCO / BP Oil in 1988. He continued working until 2013 as an independent contractor at Bell Helicopter, Texas Instruments, Dresser Industries, and JCPenney.
Lou was a man known for his faith, integrity, and kindness to others. He loved God, Carolyn, all his family, and the United States of America. A USA flag hung in his living room for decades and he proudly supported first responders and the US Military. Lou was musically gifted and played both tenor and alto saxophone, clarinet, and piano. He played in a jazz band as a young adult and the Prestonwood Baptist Church orchestra for many years.
Lou’s family would like to thank the staff at Settlers Ridge Care Center and Kindful Health Hospice for the care and attention provided over the last four months.
The family will receive visitors from 9:30AM – 11:30AM Friday, May 15th at DeBaun Funeral Home in Terre Haute with graveside services following at Roselawn Cemetery at 12 Noon. Lifelong family friend and confidant, Brian Baker officiating.
