Lorna "Dean" Rector, 93, of Farmersburg, passed away Sunday April 10, 2016 at 9:26 pm at her son's residence. Lorna and her husband had owned Rector's Marathon in Prairie Creek, she had worked for Indiana Green Thumb and most recently had worked in the water office in Farmersburg. She was born February 5, 1923 in Clay County, IN to Jonathan Stewart and Vernah (Starrett) Stewart. She is survived by a son, Kenneth Rector (Debbie Bird) of Farmersburg; daughters, Nancy Brown (Roger) of Paris, IL and Jill Rea (Billy) of Vergennes, IL; a brother, Cletus Stewart; 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Estel Rector who died April 21, 1980; a daughter, Janet Sue Rector who died May 26, 1946, and brothers, Ernest Keifner, Clayton Stewart, William Stewart, and Etzell Stewart, and a sister, Georgia Boothe. Lorna was a member of the Church of the Living Faith and Bethlehem Rebekah Lodge #805 in Prairie Creek. Visitation will be Thursday April 14, 2016 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services on Friday April 15, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Glenn Bussa officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
