Loren "Dale" Wicks, 80, of Terre Haute, passed away at 9:02 p.m. Dec. 22, 2017, in Southwood Health Center. Dale was born on July 31, 1937, in Vigo County, to Thomas Wicks and Gladys Turpin Wicks. He was a member of West Terre Haute First Baptist Church. Dale served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. He retired from Pfizer in 1996. Dale is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Nancy (Willard) Wicks, and they were married Dec. 31, 1956; his son, Bradley Wicks (Mary); daughters, Loree Woods (Jeff) and Lisa Deitschel (Jeff); his grandchildren, Jacob Woods, Loren Woods, Camie Woods, Megan Woods, Craig Shelby Jr. and Kristina Shelby; his brother, Bill Wicks (Iris); two sisters-in-law, Donna Long (Ed) and Janet Wicks; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents; two sisters; two brothers; and a brother-in-law. Visitation for Dale will be Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, from 4 until 8 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, with service being held on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow after services at Durham Cemetery with VFW 972 conducting graveside military honors.
