Linda L. Young, 65, formerly of Vigo County, passed away at 8:15 A.M., Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at her home in Plainfield, IN. She was born July 21, 1951 to William Hanley Pierce and Frances Helen (Reed) Pierce. She was a homemaker and worked briefly at the West Vigo IGA and Jo Ann Fabrics in Terre Haute. Linda graduated from Ivy Tech with an administrative secretarial degree. She was an avid quilter and attended many quilt shows and visited many quilt shops across the country during her RV travels with her husband Richard. She was a member of the Quilters Guild of Highlands County Florida. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, William Pierce (2007) and her mother Frances Pierce in (1985). She is survived by her husband Richard L Young of Plainfield; her daughter Amy Lynn Young-Leith (Scot) of Salem Oregon; brother Ken Pierce (Susie) of Clinton IN; and several nieces and nephews; as well as her aunt Ernestine Reed of Spencer, IN. Following cremation, a Memorial service will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, January 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Steve Moore officiating, with visitation one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM. Internment of her ashes will be private at a later date in Roselawn Cemetery.
