Obituary

Leslie Floyd Williams, 62, of Rosedale, Indiana passed away January 23, 2026 in The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN after a battle with cancer. He was born July 18, 1963 in Mercy Hospital Urbana, Illinois to Harold F. Williams and Norma Jane Demoss.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Andrew Ard.

Leslie wore many hats and answered to many names. He would introduce himself by his grown up name "Les". He was affectionately known as "Let" to his baby sister and our "grumpy old man" to many of his friends. He was the adjutant/finance officer for Tony Kashon Post #290 American Legion in Rosedale Indiana and a proud member of the Sons of The American Legion. He took great pride in his responsibilities and had the utmost respect for the men and women who served our nation. If there was an event, you could count on Les to help out in any capacity. He loved going on buggy rides, playing bingo, and the occasional trip to the casino. If you wanted to know where he was, he was most likely socializing with friends at the legion or his favorite watering hole, Harrison's Rosedale Tavern.

Les is survived by his brothers John Williams of Pesotum, IL and George Williams of Urbana, IL

Sisters Rebecca Williams and Trina Ard both of Champaign, IL

Nieces Casey Gunckel, Amber Berkes, and Alycia Creighton

Nephews Dylan Williams and Eric Cain, as well as good friends and caregivers, Gloria and Aaron Swayze and several friends he considered family at the Legion and Harrison's.

Special thanks goes out to Dr Jabbour, the staff at Union Hospital and The Gibson Family Center, Clinton Gardens, Debaun Funeral Homes and Crematory, and each person who assisted in making his journey as tolerable as possible.

A celebration of life date will be announced at a later time.
