Leon Dale Huff, 78, of Terre Haute passed away on October 6, 2013 at 9:42 a.m. He was born on January 9, 1935 to Russell and Beulah (Lemons) Huff in Sullivan County. Leon graduated from Sullivan High School in 1953. He was a carpenter and worked for the Carpenter Union Local #133. Leon was a member of the Indiana State University Varsity Club, Sullivan Elks Club, and the Rinky Dinks Golf Club. He enjoyed golfing, basketball, football, NASCAR, and he was an avid Indiana University and Indiana State University fan. Leon was preceded in death by his parents; wife Nancy (Shake) Huff in 1973; brothers Darrell Huff, Bob Huff, Paul Huff, Donald Huff; and sister Virginia Romine. He is survived by step daughter Lori Davis, her husband Brad, and their children Kayla and Payton; brother Harold Huff, and his wife Rosemary; sisters Norma Barnett, Patty Taylor, her husband Jay, Sharon Hamilton, her husband Ben; brother-in-law Earl Romine; and sister-in-law Lelah Huff. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday October 9, 2013 at 11:00a.m. in DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Drive. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Rev. Jeff Lee will be officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday October 8, 2013 from 4:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions can be made to the Leon D. & Nancy Shake Huff Scholarship Fund. This has been set up through the Wabash Valley Community Foundation.
