Lawrence
Long
January 17, 1934 – April 7, 2023
Larry Long, 89, of Terre Haute (Seelyville) went to be with the Lord on Good Friday, April 7, 2023 at 12:18am surrounded by his son Bob Long, and his grandson and wife, Jason and Jennie Long.
He was born on January 17, 1934 to Harry and Ruth Long.
He was a member of the local carpenters union and owner of Larry Long and Sons Home Improvement. Larry was a life-long resident of Seelyville.
He was a devoted family man, who loved his family deeply. Larry loved being outside and could often be seen driving his golf cart around to help his family with home projects. He also loved spending time on his porch swing, talking to whoever stopped by that day or telling his grandkids stories of growing up and teaching them the importance of a strong work ethic.
Larry earned a pilgrim degree from The Moose Lodge #1009 in Terre Haute, where he and Lucy were members for 50 years.
He is survived by the love of his life for the last 72 years, Lucy Long; sons: Bob, Rick (Susan), and Mark (Paula); grandchildren: Bobby (Dawn), Jason (Jennie), Tiffany, Brandy, Nick, and Wesley, and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
Per Larry's wishes, private family services were held, and his grandson, Jason Long officiated. His grandsons and great grandsons served as pallbearers and Larry was laid to rest in a private mausoleum at Highland Lawn Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Seelyville Town Hall, located at 2299 N Main Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47803 on Sunday, April 30, 2023. The family welcomes visitors from 1:00pm - 3:00pm.
Debaun Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
