Obituary

Larry Lee Staley, 76 of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Martinsville, IL on November 10, 1939 to Charles Staley and Bertha Weber Staley. Larry served in the Illinois National Guard for 6 years, was a member of Riley American Legion Post # 328, and was inducted into the Wabash Valley Musician's Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife Brenda Daffer Staley, and children Robbie Staley, Dennis Staley, and Amanda Black. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Noah Black, Reina Staley, and Sheina Staley. Other survivors include two sisters, Hazel Keller and Mildred Dix, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Gerald Staley, and a sister, Zola Maurer. Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Jeff Lee officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been chosen and will take place following funeral services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, in his memory.
