Kyle B. Poorman, 59, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday January 29, 2022 in Southwood Healthcare. He retired after 36 years at the Tribune Star Newspaper. He was born July 7, 1962 in Columbus, Indiana to Lawrence Eugene and Anita Jane (Short) Poorman. Kyle is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Michelle (Hill) Poorman; mother, Anita Poorman; daughter, Jennifer Poorman (Nate McCalister); son, Daniel Poorman (Trish); granddaughter, Abigail Poorman and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Kevin Poorman. Kyle loved traveling. He combined his love of traveling with his love for baseball, he was a die-hard Boston Red Sox's fan, and his love of history and traveled with Valor Tours that visited historic WW II sites and Jay Buckley Tours that visited baseball fields across the country. Kyle had been a member of the Indiana National Guard. He was a life member of the Huguenot Society of Indiana and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). Kyle also held a pilot's license and enjoyed exploring lighthouses and photography. Visitation will be Wednesday February 2, 2022 from 11:00 am until 1:30 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services at 1:30 pm in the funeral home with Pastor David Smith officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Salem, Indiana.
