Obituary

Kristy Louise Clayborn passed away in Regional Hospital in Terre Haute on Saturday morning Oct 22 at 8am. She was born to Roy Daniel Clayborn & Sandra K Bailey Clayborn (Anderson) on Oct. 5, 1976 in Huntington Indiana Her grandma Betty nicknamed her LouBell. Kristy had been fighting Shwachman Diamond Syndrome all her life. It caused her to develop Acute Myelogenous Leukemia one year ago. She received a stem cell transplant in April at St Francis Hospital, Indianapolis. Kristy's leukemia returned 3 weeks ago & she battled as hard as she could but could not beat it. Kristy was a single mother raising her two daughters with the help of her parents. She graduated in 1996 from Terre Haute South & attended Ivy Tech for accounting, working with her Mom doing accounting. Her animals Duke, Boo & Boots were an important part of her life. She loved animals & helped with the animal sanctuary her family has. She loved Boot City Opry, Friday night family lake house get together for supper & Euchre, science fiction shows. & Nicholas Sparks books & movies, grandpa, John Rushing, bought her the books & movies as soon as they came out. Kristy is survived by her parents Sandy & Bernie Anderson of Prairieton, 2 daughters. Danielle (Lane) Hensley. & Sabrina Kae Anderson, Grandpa John Clayborn. Warren, IN, her Aunts & Uncles. Janet Bailey. Richard & Karen Bailey, Sharon Clayborn, Janet & Dan Moriarity, Amy Clayborn, John & Paula Clayborn, and Pam Turner all of the Warren, IN area. Mary & Larry Black of West Terre Haute, several cousins & extended family who loved her such as her "sisters" Veronica Nevins, husband Lee & Becky Fields, nephew, Owen Nevins, niece, Amelia Nevins, David & Mickey Phelps, Pastor Allen & Brenda McQueen & the rest of her church family. Kristy was preceded in death by her brothers, Steven & Daniel Clayborn, father. Roy Daniel Clayborn; grandmas, Betty Bailey, Daisy Clayborn, Jackie Clayborn, & Margaret Anderson; grandpas, Ned Bailey & John Rushing, aunt Susan Bailey and uncle David Bailey. She was a member of the Prairie Park Baptist Church. Her wishes were to be cremated with some ashes put at Fox Lake & a stone placed by her brothers in Mt. Etna Cemetery in Huntington County. There will be no services, but a party at the lake house at a later date. She loved lake life with her family. Kristy & family would like to thank Dr. Michael Dugan, Dr. Luke Akard, Dr. John Edwards, Dr. G. Nalepa & all the staff at St Francis Hospital in Indianapolis & Regional Hospital for the excellent care. Dr. Sang Huh & Dr. Jon Stockrahm. & their staffs at Terre Haute & the stem cell donor who tried to help save Kristy. The family requests no flowers or food, but anyone wishing to donate, do so to an animal shelter, Prairie Park Baptist Church, Shwachman Diamond Foundation, or the charity of your choice. The greatest thing you could do is donate blood! You never realize how important it is until you need it. Kristy will be missed terribly by her family & friends, but will remain in our hearts forever!
