Joseph C. Self, 75, of Stilesville, IN passed away Friday June 3, 2016 at Danville Regional Rehab Center. He was retired from CSX Railroad. Joseph was born in Farmersburg, IN to Percy Self and Marie (Copeland) Self. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol (Wilkins) Self; a son, Joseph Self II of Monrovia; a sister, Marge Suter (Jack) of Farmersburg and a granddaughter, Madeline Emily Self. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Charlene Artman and a brother, Richard Self. Joseph was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a huge Bean Blossom Bluegrass fan where he loved to go and spend time with all of his friends. He was a great craftsman and loved collecting antique autos and oil company and gas company collectibles. Funeral services will be Tuesday June 7, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the chapel at West Lawn Cemetery in Farmersburg with Pastor Rick Swan officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery. DeBaun Springhill Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
