Jon Charles Burns, 60, passed away unexpectedly the morning of May 2nd, 2016 while visiting his family in Indianapolis, IN. Jon was born October 31st, 1955 in Terre Haute, IN. Jon lived in Terre Haute for the first 50 years of his life and was currently living in Olive Branch, MS. He was a 3rd generation paper maker and held numerous positions at Weston Paper Manufacturing Company/International Paper in Terre Haute. He was currently a Senior Energy Buyer for International Paper in Memphis, TN. He is survived by his Father, Ruel Fox Burns, Jr., step-mother Helen Jane Burns, brother Ruel Fox Burns III and sister, Susan Caye Burns-Lalich. Mother of his children, Charla Wolverton. His children, J. Tyler Burns and spouse, Erin L.Burns, his grandson, Isaac Martin Burns, and daughter, Hannah Joyce Burns. Nephew's Garrett Lalich and Tommy Lalich. Niece, Stefanie Lalich-Campbell. Jon was an avid golfer who never took much stock in the final score. He enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time attempting to shoot clay targets. He was most happy when surrounded by his children, and was over joyed to be able to spend time with his newly born grandson before he passed. As a man, there was no one with a greater work ethic. As a father, he spent his life providing for and loving his children. Per Jon's wishes he will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at the DeBaun Springhill Chapel in Terre Haute, IN on Sunday, May 8th from 2-4pm. All who knew Jon are welcome to join.
