John Arthur Myers, 64, of West Terre Haute passed away Wednesday January 18, 2017. He was a retired electrician with the IBEW for over 36 years. John was born August 6, 1952 in Terre Haute to Donald Myers and Jenny (Dildine) Myers. He is survived by his wife, Cecelia (Burns) Myers; his father, Donald Myers; children, Jonathan Myers (Jennifer) of Boston, Benjamin Myers of Indianapolis, Michael Myers (Gillian) of Boston, Anna Wetnight (Tom) of Rosedale, Laurie Taylor (Scott) of Terre Haute, and Lisa Gonzales (Robert) of Terre Haute; a sister, Jane Long (Bob) of Terre Haute; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pat and Russ Fisher of Terre Haute, Elizabeth and Robert Norder of Terre Haute, Mary Martha Georgifiski of Merrillville, IN, Pat and Rebecca Burns of Terre Haute, and Joe Burns of Terre Haute and also many grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. While he was with the IBEW he taught the Apprenticeship Training Program for many years. John was a member of the Senior Men's Baseball League and he enjoyed the outdoors, landscaping, reading, baseball, camping, boating, and spending time with family and friends. Visitation will be Monday January 23, 2017 from 1:00 until 3:00 pm in DeBaun Funeral Home with funeral services at 3:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Chris Wilbur officiating. As per John's request, cremation will follow.
