John Emmons III, 69, passed away on February 1, 2023 after a brief illness.  He was born on March 13, 1953 to John Emmons Jr. and Cora Sue Emmons in Indianapolis, IN.  He was preceded in death by both parents as well as his siblings Susan Butler and David Emmons.  John is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Marilyn Emmons; children John Brian Emmons (Jill), Rachel Bloch (Karl) of Washington, IL, and Rebecca Stewart (Lee); siblings Cindy Fowler of Winterpark, FL and Michael Emmons of Denver, CO; grandchildren Dillon, Scott, Reed, Matthew, Caroline, Jaxon, and Eric; nieces and nephews Joshua, Mike, Lori, and Patrick.  John was a retired salesman.  He enjoyed watching sports and going to sprint car races, especially at Lincoln Park Speedway.  John loved spending time with family. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his grandchildren; he would go to all their events.   John was a kind, friendly man, never meeting a stranger.  Visitation for John will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Tuesday February 7 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM with services starting at 1:00 PM.
