John Phillip Granby, 75, passed away on November 27, 2023. He was born on December 23, 1947 in Robinson, IL to Don Granby and Mary (Baker) Granby. John married Sheila Granby in 1967. He worked as a mechanic for over 40 years at Bowens, and he also worked at Wiseman's and BWB Racing. He enjoyed building and racing sprint cars. He also like woodworking and metalworking. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, sons John Christopher Granby, Jeffery Scott Granby, and Shaun David Granby, daughter Jenny Lynn Houzenga (Andy), sister Sue Slavens, and grandchildren Collin, Carson, David, Gabe, Loryn, Luke, and Hazel. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 11 am to 1 pm at Farmersburg Westlawn Chapel with a service to follow at 1 pm. Burial will be at Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.debaunfunelrahomes.com.
