John Wayne Faught, 70, went to heaven December 22, 2019, peacefully at home after a long courageous battle with cancer. John was born April 11, 1949 to John and Imogene (Baker) Faught in Linton, Indiana. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and son. John is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cindy (Grizzle) Faught; mother, Imogene; sister, Donna Jones (Jerry); daughters, Renee Patterson (Shawn), Stephanie Bramel (Cory), and Amy Bell (Andre); son, Kevin Barnett; grandchildren, Kylie, Brayden, Cameron, Ian, Eli, Gavin, Emma, Ceinna, Sierra, and Lillian; sister-in-law, Carol Myers (Buddy); brothers-in-law he considered his brothers, Ernie Grizzle (Melinda) and Bobby Grizzle (Lori); several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; special friends, Marsha and "Momma" Marie Loyd. He was preceded in death by his father, John; mother-in-law, Charity Higham Wessol; father-in-law, Eugene Grizzle; brother-in-law, Jimmy Oeffler; best friends, Dave Hensley, Jimmy McDowell, and several extended family members and friends. John retired from GTE/Verizon after 31 years of dedicated service. He was an avid golfer and loved going out and play a few rounds with his best buddy's Dave, Ernie, Bobby, and Sam. He was a former member of Chamber of Commerce, Elks, Legion, and Windy Hill Country Club in Greencastle. John loved to get out on the dance floor and kick up his heels. He was always the life of the party and enjoyed being the center of attention. He will be truly missed! Per his request, cremation has been chosen. A Gathering of Family and Friends to share stories will be Monday December 30, 2019 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at Northside United Methodist Church, 1075 N. Fruitridge Ave, Terre Haute, Indiana 47804 with a Celebration of this wonderful man's Life starting at 4:00 pm at the church.
