John Keith Dunning, Jr., 66, AKA “The General” of Clay County ran into the arms of Jesus, his Savior on July 17, 2026. He was a gentle spiritual giant who loved to cover his loving wife, Lynnie as a servant to the Buckets of Love Ministry.

Presiding in death were his parents, John and Carolyn Dunning, sister Susie Bennett and brother Jeff Dunning. Surviving are his loving wife of 21 years, Lynn Ann, bonus children Drew Alford (Sarah), Erika Whipps (Thomas), and Stephanie Alford; his most cherished grandchildren Chloe Alford, Ayden Alford, and Maverick Alford; spiritual daughter Chas Dunning, as well as several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He attended Whosoever Will Full Gospel Church in Dugger, Indiana where he enjoyed being a greeter. Johnny has left quite a Godly legacy for his grandchildren. They were a joy to him, and he loved them very deeply.

Cremation was entrusted to DeBaun Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Whosoever Will Full Gospel Church located at 7586 East State Street, Dugger, Indiana 47848. The family will welcome visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Service will begin at the church at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Jonathan Nichols officiating. In lieu of flowers Johnny Keith’s last request is to donate to Buckets of Love Overcomers Prison Ministry. Envelopes will be available at the church.
