John "Jay" Carl Massey, 57, passed away at Regional Hospital on August 22, 2022.  He was born to James "Johnny" Massey and Carla Smith Massey on November 29, 1964.  Jay was preceded in death by his father; niece Rachel Norris; brother Marvin Pruitt.  He is survived by his wife Beth Whitesell Massey; mom, Carla and dad Carl Norris; sons Dillon Massey (Tiffany) and Mitchell Massey; daughter Ellie Mae Massey; brother David Norris (Heather); sister Stacey Coletti (Tony), as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  Jay was an avid NASCAR fan, until the death of Dale Earnhardt in 2001. He worked as a steel fabricator and enjoyed building things.  Visitation for Jay will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Friday, August 26 from 4-8:00 PM with funeral services on Saturday, August 27 at 11:00 AM. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery will follow.   Reverend Tim Fagg will be officiating.
