Jo Ann
(Moore) Stiller
February 17, 1932 – October 13, 2017
Jo Ann Stiller, 85, slipped peacefully away on October 13, 2017. She was born on February 17, 1932 to Earle E. Moore and Scharlotte (Hayworth) Moore.
Jo Ann was a graduate of Honey Creek High School and Indiana State University. While a student at ISU, Jo Ann was involved in her sorority, the Alpha Delta chapter of Chi Omega, Future Teachers of America, Sycamore staff, American Childhood Education and served as senior class secretary.
Following graduation from ISU, Jo Ann taught at Fairbanks Elementary until becoming a full time homemaker. Jo Ann met her future husband, Bob Stiller, at ISU and they were married April 3, 1955. They celebrated 61 years together until his death on November 2, 2016. They were blessed with two children. Their daughter, Susan Mills and her husband, Dan survive. Their son, Rick, died on January 12, 1974 at the age of 16.
Jo Ann was a member of First Baptist Church, Terre Haute, where she served on various committees, was a prayer partner for Kid's Hope and assisted in many areas of service. Jo Ann was very creative and enjoyed writing stories and poems. She will be best remembered for her handmade BoJo greeting cards.
Graveside services will be Wednesday October 18, 2017 in Roselawn Memorial Park at 1:00 pm with Pastor Bernie Jackson officiating. DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel is assisting with arrangements and cremation.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, in Jo Ann's memory, to the First Baptist Church, 4701 Poplar Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47803 or to Great Lakes Caring Hospice Foundation, 900 Cooper Street, Jackson, MI 49202.
A special thank you to the staff of Bethesda Gardens. This incredible group of individuals treated both Bob and Jo Ann like family and always made them feel at home.
