Jim "JJ" Erwin, 63 of Riley, passed away at 2:35 PM on October 29, 2014. He was born June 17, 1951 to G. Wayne Erwin and Donna Jo Robinson Erwin, and was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward D. Erwin. He is survived by his brother Bill W Erwin and sister Teresa Kalber ( husband David); nephews Ryan Kalber and Bret Kalber, nieces Kelsey Jo Erwin and Emily J. Kalber, and several great nieces and nephews. He was a graduate from Gerstmeyer High School and had attended Indiana State University. He retired from the 181st Tactical Fighter Squadron at Hulman Air Field as a jet mechanic. His memberships include Riley Masonic Lodge # 390 F & AM—where he was a Past Master, and a 32nd degree Mason of the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute. Visitation is scheduled in DeBaun Springhill Chapel for Friday, October 31, 2014 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. Masonic Lodge services will be given at 3:00 PM by Riley Masonic Lodge # 390 F & AM, Funeral services are scheduled immediately following, with Pastor Harold Throckmartin officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Riley, with military graveside rites given by Riley American Legion Post # 328. The family requests memorial contributions be given to Riley Masonic Lodge # 390 F & AM, in his memory.
