Jerald (Jerry) L. Williams, 82 of Cayuga, passed away at 4:42 p.m. EST Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the Gibson Family Hospice, Terre haute, IN.

He was born on July 26, 1944, in Danville, Illinois, the son of the late Willard (Bill) and Dorothy Williams.

On October 23, 1966, Jerry married his sweetheart, Carolyn Sue Boes. Together they built a beautiful life and have a daughter, Angela (Williams) Leigh. He was especially proud of his 2 grandchildren, Scott Leigh, Jr. (Casey) and Alandra Leigh (Kevin). He was also super proud of his Great Grandsons, Karter, Kassius, Brody, Elliott and Max. Jerry is also survived by brother David Williams and sister Brenda Williams Everson.

Jerry was an Army Veteran, who served in Germany. He was a member of the Cayuga American Legion 263. He was a Millwright at GM and retired after 30 years. Jerry was a man with many talents, as he loved replicating the historical buildings around Vermillion County, such as the Collett Home, Old Grandstands, Round Barn, Newport Grade School, Covered bridges, etc. He had a love and passion for Model Trains, fixing and repairing anything he could touch, his nickname was Mr. Fix It, he could fix anything. He enjoyed spending time with his coffee buddies.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Willard (Bill) and Dorothy Williams and sister, Connie Williams

He lived a full meaningful and happy life. His absence leaves an immeasurable space in the hearts of those who loved him, but the legacy he created will continue on for generations.

In following Jerry’s wishes, there will be no services. Cremation has been entrusted to DeBaun Funeral Home.
