It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jarod Lee Gouchenour, age 33, on December 5, 2025, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. Jarod, a dedicated Son, Brother, and true friend to many, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Jarod Lee Gouchenour was born on April 7, 1992, in Terre Haute, Indiana. He spent most of his life in the Wabash Valley. He attended West Vigo High school and Indiana State University. Jarod worked many years as a Front Desk Hotel Associate and he will be remembered for his generosity, work ethic, and the care he put into everything he did. Jarod was an author who worked diligently to finish his first novel. His knowledge, intelligence, and sense of humor will be a loss to the world. He had a wonderful support system with his family and friends who enjoyed playing video games and RPGs. His deep friendships will never be forgotten. Jarod is survived by his parents, Albert & Michelle Gouchenour. His sister, Tristan Gouchenour and many family and friends who loved him dearly. "I won't scatter your sorrow to the heartless sea. I will always be with you. Plant your roots in me. I won't see you end as ashes. You're all diamonds" In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the VHL Alliance in Jarod's name.
