Janice Irene Iahn, 83, of Terre Haute passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Springhill Village. She was born March 21, 1938 in Terre Haute to Karl Vincent Nipple and Margaret Louise (Schimmel) Nipple. Family was the world to Janice. She was a natural born caregiver and had a huge heart. She even cared for her parents, in-laws, and her husband at the end of their lives. Janice worked for the local Boy Scouts office and managed the Medical Arts Building. She was the self-proclaimed garage sale queen and claimed to hold the first ever garage sale in Terre Haute. Janice loved to play Bridge and was active in two groups that met monthly. She was also an avid reader. When her daughters were young she was very active with the local Girl Scout Troop. Most of all she was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Janice is survived by her daughters Pamela Iahn and Paula Dillion (Brian), grandchildren Steven Nowicki (Gabrielle), Matthew Nowicki (Barbie), Kyle Nowicki, Kati Nowicki (Christin), Nathan Dillion and Benjamin Dillion; great-grandchildren Alexia Nowicki, Kayleigh Nowicki, McKenzie Nowicki, Hailee Nowicki, Allison Nowicki, Lyra Calloway and Mila Calloway; sister Sandy Nipple, brother Tom Nipple (Pamela), and sister-in-law LaJuana Nipple as well as several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 46 years William P. Iahn, granddaughter Meg Dillion, great-grandson Zachary Nowicki, and brother Frederick Karl Nipple.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the March of Dimes or Riley Children's Hospital.
