Janet L. Johnson, 70, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully in her residence Wednesday November 8, 2023. She was born August 27, 1953 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to James and Helen (Bell) Allred. Janet is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jimmy Johnson; daughter, Leslie Chapman (Mark) of Evansville; son, Kenneth Ray (Maria) of St. Louis; sister, Joyce Johnson of Fairbanks, Indiana; step-sister, Cyndi Thornton of Baton Rouge; brothers, Gary Allred of Fairbanks, Indiana, David Allred of Kansas City, and half brother, Larry Allred of Oakland, California; grandchildren, Lynsi, Nick, Austin, Dakota, and Julia and great-grandchildren, Nick Jr., Mila, Salem, Julian, and Sofie. She was preceded in death by her father, James Allred; mother and step-father, Helen and Henrie "Smoky" Greenway and a granddaughter, Mackenzie. Janet was a member of Community Church of Greenwood. She enjoyed playing bingo and coloring. She liked attending Indiana Pacer basketball games, but most of all, Janet loved spending time with her family. Visitation will be Sunday November 12, 2023 from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services starting at 3:00 pm in the funeral home.
