Jane Annette Shields, born Jane Annette Kinman on March 17, 1958 to Mary Lou (Biggs) Kinman and Robert "Jack" Kinman of Petersburg, IN. Jane passed on to glory on March 31, 2026 at home, holding her husband's hand. Jane was preceded in death by her father and mother, as well as brothers Robert "Dale" Kinman (Teresa) and Keith Kinman. Jane is survived by her brother Timothy Kinman, sister-in-law Teresa Kinman, her loving husband of 18 years, John Michael Shields; her children Jamie (Stuart) Pohlman (Dusty), Donald Andrew Stuart (Kelly), and Matthew Tyler Stuart. Also surviving her stepchildren Angela Dawn Shields, John Michael Shields II, Charles Xavier Shields, and Petra Michelle Shields. Jane was also blessed with 13 grandchildren who survive: Jakob Pohlman, Sarah Margaret Pohlman, Evalyn Grace Pohlman, Ryan Pohlman, Louise Pohlman, Caspian Pohlman, Edmund Pohlman, Daniel Brady, Parker Zais, Connor Zais, Malakai Stuart, Leilyn Stuart, and Elijah Shields. Jane is a longtime member of Christ Community Church in Brazil, Indiana, and she loved the Lord with all her heart. She will be missed terribly by family and friends who loved her. Jane will have a visitation on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 4 pm to 7 pm at DeBaun Funeral Home in Terre Haute, with a short service to follow. Pastor Joshua Sanders of Christ Community Church will officiate, and all the family and friends are welcome to come and celebrate a life well-lived.
