James R. "Jim" Walters, 63, of Terre Haute passed away Friday April 17, 2015 at 9:30 pm in Indianapolis. He was a boiler operator for Weston Paper (International Paper) for 32 years. James was born March 11, 1952 in Terre Haute to Adrain Walters and Dorothy (Morris) Walters. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Claudette (Sharp) Walters; a daughter, Jamie Wilkins and her husband Doug of Terre Haute; granddaughters, Kelcie Cottom and Kourtney Cottom; step-grandsons, Duggin Wilkins and Douglas Wilkins, Jr.; sisters, Janet Ashby and her husband Bill of Terre Haute and Jane Walters of Terre Haute and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was a member of the NRA, the Eagles Lodge and the United Paperworkers Union. Visitation will be Tuesday April 21, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm in DeBaun Funeral Homes, Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Dr. with funeral services on Wednesday April 22, 2015 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Chris McKinney officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to either St. Jude's Children's Hospital or a Veteran's organization of your choice.
