James Richard "Jim" Nevins, 93, of Terre Haute passed away Friday, February 17, 2023 in his residence. He was born May 4, 1929 in Terre Haute to William Lawrence and Hazel (Highsmith) Nevins. He retired from Hoosier Hand Pac. He is survived by his wife, Lorena (McGranahan) Nevins; sons, Lee Nevins (Veronica), Jack Nevins, and Kenneth Nevins; daughter, Judi King; grandchildren, Amelia, Owen, William, and Jacob; step-grandson, Ronnie; and great-granddaughter, Elena. He is preceded in death by both of his parents; sons, Benjamin Nevins and Jimmy Alan Nevins; grandson, Mickenzie; and sister, Daisy Forest. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He also worked at Owen Brockway, Midland glass, and Merchants Distillery. Jim was a member of the Prairie Creek American Legion. He enjoyed coon and mushroom hunting. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Eddie Myers officiating.
