James Joseph Priester, 61, of Terre Haute passed away December 21, 2020 at his residence.  He was born October 14, 1959 in Beech Grove, Indiana to Frederick Priester, Jr. and Katherine Crossen Priester.  Jim was a life long parishioner of St. Benedict Catholic Church.  He was very devoted to his church and served on several committees  over the years.  Jim was a juvenile probation officer for over 20 years and also served as a case manager.  He was always willing to help others and was known for his many random acts of kindness.

Jim is survived by his sons, Jimmy Priester and Matt Priester, their mother Sheila Priester, sister Barbara Gushrowski, brothers Frederick Priester III (Dorothy), Michael Priester (Debbie), and Thomas Priester (Diana), as well as thirteen nieces and eight nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents and nephew Michael Todd Priester.

A Funeral Mass was held at St. Benedict Catholic Church.  DeBaun Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements. Interment of cremains will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Calvary Cemetery beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Friends are welcome to attend.  A gathering will be held at the family home following interment.  Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
