James Lee Lankford, 93, of Terre Haute passed away on May 11, 2013 at 7:10 p.m. He was born on October 19, 1919 to Jess Lankford and Viola Loveall Lankford. James served in the United States Army in WWII as a Paratrooper. He enjoyed his dogs and his cats. James is survived by his wife Elizabeth "Bettie" Bryant Lankford; son Mitchell Lankford, wife Glenda; daughter Sharon Voorhees; step daughter Diana Ramey; grandchildren Robert Lankford, Terry Lankford, Don Lankford, Bobby Lankford, Wayne Cottrell, Debbie Faris, Rick Lewis, and Randy Lewis; great grandchildren Mitchell, Brittany, Ashley, Terri Lea, Donny, Laurie, Shannon, Shyanna, Stephanie, Wesley, Karley, and Austin; and 4 great- great grandchildren Alex, Kinley, Macy, and Kolton. He is preceded in death by his parents; son Jimmy Lankford; sister Betty Mae Meneely; and great grandson Tony Lankford. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday May 15, 2013 at 2:00p.m. in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Drive. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from Noon until service time. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of the Wabash Valley.
