James Lester Higgins, 89, of Terre Haute passed away Sunday November 22, 2020 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He retired in 1990 from the Laborer's Local #204. He was born July 13, 1931 in Clark County, Illinois to Lester and Lola Alice (Lee) Higgins. James is survived by his sons, Jeff Higgins, Ron Higgins, and Russell Higgins; daughter, Angela Higgins; brother, Terry Higgins; 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, James Higgins and Theodore Higgins; brothers, Gilbert Higgins and Frank Higgins and sister, Lou Ellen Simmons. James was a US Army veteran of the Korean War where he earned a Bronze Star. Due to Covid-19 the family will be having a private graveside service in New Harmony Cemetery.
