Obituary

James Louis Hayne, 91 , of Terre Haute, passed away at 3:09 PM on Thursday, August 8, 2013 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Vigo County on August 5, 1922 to Con Hayne and Mary Lark Hayne. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Army, and later enlisted in the Navy with his brother. He was the former owner of Pappy's Neighborhood Tavern. James is survived by his daughter, Connie Van Natten, two granddaughters, Kari Rukes Moody and Teri Rukes Winegar & husband Scott, and three great grandchildren; Ayla Winegar, Laken Rukes, and Logan Svboda. Also surviving is one brother, Harold Hayne & wife Margie, special nephews Stanley Rukes & wife Beth, Steven Rukes and wife Carol, Ronald Hayne, and Mark Hayne, and a special nieces, Janet Hayne Auterson. Other survivors include a special friend, Frieda Connett. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post # 972, William Penn Masonic Lodge # 727 F & AM, and Teamsters Local # 135. Memorial services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 3:00 PM, with Military rites provided by VFW Post # 972. The family requests memorial contributions are made to the Indiana State Soldier's Home, 3851 North River Road, West Lafayette, IN 47906.
