James D. Hastings, 66, of Sandcut passed away at 4:25 PM on Thursday, May 30, 2013 in his residence. He was born April 6, 1947 in Kingman to James and Mary Jane (Sollars) Hastings. Jim attended Clinton High School and worked for 45 years in the Aerospace Industry– he recently retired as a manufacturing manager from GE/Tri- Industries . Jim was a car enthusiast and belonged to the Wabash Valley Corvette Club and the Wabash Valley Rodders. He was also known to be a workaholic. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Bonnie Lou (Funkhouser) Hastings, a son James 'Jimmy' or 'JR' Hastings, and brothers and sister Jerry, Richard, and Marian "Sis" Jones. His survivors are his wife, Cindy (Chambers) Hastings, sons Jeff Hastings and wife Paula, Steve McDowell, and Jay Hastings and wife Jessie; his brother Paul Hastings and wife Louanne; his sister Janice Reedy and husband Randy; grandchildren Justin Hastings and friend Blake Watson, Jessica( Hastings) Summerville & husband Codey, Jerret Hastings and friend Kaci Hixon, Sierra Hastings-Kelley, Rodney Sullivan, Hunter Hastings, and Nolan Hastings. He has one great-grandson Easton Summerville. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, with Rev. Jeff Lee officiating. Burial will follow in New Harmony Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in DeBaun Springhill Chapel.
