James W Curtis, 56, of Terre Haute passed away February 16, 2018 in Union Hospital.  He was born on August 29, 1961 to Ralph M Curtis Sr and Charlotte Smith Curtis.  He is preceded in death by his father; grandparents Kathryn Curtis and Ralph E Curtis ; maternal grandparents; Harry and Edith Smith; Aunt Betty Charlene Smith; Aunt Barbara Shattuck (Homer); cousin Kathy Sawin; uncles Carl Power and Virgil Bourne.  James is survived by his mother; two brothers Ralph Curtis (Special friend Gala Williams) and John Curtis (Linda); son James M Curtis; Uncle Robert Smith (Carol) Smith; Aunt Peg Power; aunt Brenda Bourne; many nieces and nephews; and his very special friends Daniel and Carrie Hunt and family, Joe Ridge, Mike and Treva Burns, and Phil and Doris Spriesterbach and family.  James was a welder among many other things; he enjoyed camping, fishing, horseback riding as well as hunting.  A private memorial service will be held for James.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either the Kidney Foundation or Diabetes Foundation.
