Jackie Melvin Sands, 80, of West Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025.  He was born to Robert Eugene Sands and Anna Maxine (Perkins) Sands on November 3, 1945 in Terre Haute.  On February 14, 1986, Jackie married the love of his life, Nancee (Stiles) Sands.

In his free time, Jackie loved watching Nascar and Westerns.  He also enjoyed fishing.  He was known for telling off telemarketers and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Jackie loved his dog, Ozzy, and had a very special bond with him.

Jackie is preceded in death by both of his parents; son Anthony Sands; daughter Patricia Sands; brother Robert Sands, Jr.; sisters Sue Palmer and Sandy Hedden; and special friends Larry Sparks.

Jackie is survived by his wife, Nancee; sons Jackie Sands, Jr., Jeff Sands (Michelle), Larry Robbins (Raelynn); daughter Lucinda Higginbotham; grandchildren Jennifer, Jessica, Alicia, Trista, Kayla, Haley, Robert, Christopher, Katie, Tommy, Mason; several great-grandchildren; and special sister-in-law Lori McKinley.

Visitation will be held at DeBaun Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Services will be officiated by Pastor Chris Wilbur beginning at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Tecumseh.  Online condolences may be made at www.debaunfuneralhomes.com
