Jack A. Deckard, 81, of Terre Haute passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at his home.  He was born April 27, 1943, in Terre Haute to Kenneth Jenkins and Gertrude Jenkins (Hay). Jack enjoyed reading, fishing, and working in his yard.  Jack had a heart of gold and was always there to help those in need.  He was a shameless flirt, an avid storyteller, and had a great sense of humor.  Most of all he was a beloved father and grandfather.  His family was his greatest treasure and proudest accomplishment.

Jack is survived by his son Jack A. Deckard, Jr. (Lisa), daughters Christina Wright (Scott) and Monica Richards, grandchildren Jasmine Wright, Zene Wright, Jaylee Shelby, Hailey Richards, Jeremy Richards, Jordan Nalwood, and Thomas Deckard, half-sisters Peggy Simms and Naomi Russell, as well as many other extended family members.  He was preceded in death by his parents, half-brothers Tommy Jenkins, Richard Jenkins, Phillip Jenkins, and George Hay, half-sister Darlene Compton, and stepbrothers Jack Jenkins and Kenny Jenkins.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 8, 2024, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donation in remembrance of Jack may be made to the American Cancer Society Lung Cancer Foundation or Hux Cancer Center.  Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com
