Ida F. Coleman, 94, passed away Saturday February 8, 2014 at 5:24 pm in Prairie Village Nursing Home in Washington, IN. She was born April 3, 1919 in Cass, IN to Charles S. Benton and Nellie (Joseph) Benton. Ida is survived by son, Donald Lee Coleman and his wife Jill; 3 daughters, Mickey Walker and her husband Joe of Shelburn, IN, Mary Flint and her husband Roger of Washington, IN, and Cathy Mickey and her husband Tom of Dennison, IL; 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Coleman, her parents, a brother, Charles Benton, a great granddaughter, and a great great grandson. Ida's greatest passion was playing her guitar and singing country music. She played on the Grand Ole Opry in the 1930's. Visitation will be Tuesday February 11, 2014 from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm in DeBaun Funeral Homes, Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Dr. with funeral services at 12:30 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Benton officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Farmersburg. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to either, American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
