Obituary

Our daughter, Holly Sue Davis, passed from life on September 15, 2026 into the arms of Jesus and her loving mother, Sue.

Holly was born February 12, 1974. She attended Riley Elementary and graduated from Terre Haute South High School with the class of 1991, where her academic achievements earned her scholarships to Indiana State University. While at ISU, Holly’s love of mathematics and computers led her to earn multiple degrees, including a Master’s in Education and an MBA.

From an early age, Holly loved being active and involved. She spent her summers playing Miss Softball and enjoyed attending youth group and spending time with her friends. She also taught herself to play the piano. Never one to read music, Holly simply played by ear, sharing her natural musical gift with those around her.

Throughout her life, Holly loved attending and volunteering at church. She especially cherished her time working with the youth group and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people.

Holly had a special love for cats, beginning with Spooky and continuing with the twins, Snickers and Doodle. They brought her comfort, companionship, and endless joy, and she never seemed to meet a cat she didn’t love. Her surviving fur baby, Nala Grace, held a particularly special place in Holly’s heart and was a beloved member of her family. Holly’s love for animals was one more reflection of the gentle, caring heart she shared so freely with others.

Holly’s Hobbies filled her free time and became the center of a small business by the same name. Holly and Sue spent countless hours creating, crocheting, sewing, and crafting handmade items, including beautiful baby blankets, which they sold at local vendor fairs. Holly also loved to read, and one of her newest passions was creating Diamond Dot pictures. She made many of these beautiful pieces and lovingly gifted them to friends and family.

Above all, Holly loved her family deeply. She treasured family outings with her cousins and cherished the time she spent with her Clay County family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sue, and grandparents, Melvin and Crystal (Brewer) Campbell. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with her beloved mother in Heaven.

Holly is survived by her father, Fred and her fur baby, Nala Grace. She is also survived by her aunts and uncle, Saundra & Alan Mouser and Virginia Davis, cousins — Christy Palermo (Dan), Scott Mouser (Sandy), Jill Turner, Kathy Booe, Karla Runyon (Greg), Kim Gerber (Mike), Keith Nees (Debbie), Larry R. Davis (Robin), Jeanette Boyer (Craig) and Mary Jo Royer (Mike). She also leaves behind a large and cherished extended family, each of whom she loved deeply.

Holly will be forever loved and missed. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
