Hilary Lynn Leidolf Lohrman, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, retired nurse, and passionate advocate for human rights, passed away on October 1, 2024, at the age of 69. Born on August 19, 1955 in Anderson, IN, Hilary lived a life filled with love, service, and devotion. She received her RN degree from the Indiana State nursing school in the early 80's. As a skilled and compassionate nurse she worked in the ICU, ER, Obstetrics, and as a Visiting Nurse. The majority of her career was psychiatric nursing . It was her passion. Hilary dedicated her career to the care and well-being of others. Her gentle touch and caring nature touched countless lives, and she was a trusted and valued member of every team she worked with. Her work extended beyond the hospital setting; her heart was always with her patients and their families. In the late 1980s and 90s she studied the Rule of St. Benedict and found her spiritual home among the Benedictine sisters at Mount St. Scholastica in Atchinson, Kan. She became an Oblate and mentored others in the study of The Rule. Later, she was accepted into the Souljourners Spiritual Direction Program at Mount St. Scholastica, which she completed in 1998. She was the church administrator at St. Michaels and all Angels in Overland Park, KS for 5 years from 2000 to 2005. At the end of her life she was an active member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Overland Park, where she had many dear friends. Hilary had a deep love for nature, animals, and the world around her. She found joy and solace in the company of horses, and she felt an enduring connection to the earth and all its creatures. She loved her horse Susie and Walter donkey. She spent years enjoying training her horses as her hobby. Her love for the animals was matched only by her fierce dedication to human rights. Throughout her life, Hilary advocated for justice and equality, constantly striving to make the world a better place. She was an avid writer and poet. She loved art and studied art history in college. She quilted, painted water colors, created Mandalas art, oil painting, and sculpture. Hilary was an AVID Kansas City Chiefs fan!!
